Center for Innovation and Enterpreneurship
Lodz University of Technology
Center for Innovation and Enterpreneurship Lodz University of Technology (CIP) supports the University’s efforts in the field of technology transfer and commercialization. The primary goal of the Center is to introduce new technologies into the economy, while also spreading knowledge through training on intellectual property in its broadest sense.
CIP promotes Lodz University of Technology as a scientific center offering innovative technologies of a world-class standard. Since its inception, the unit has been involved in transferring technology to business. By securing external funding through projects that finance university technologies, it actively supports researchers.
The Center consists of three sections, each undertaking diverse activities:
- The Technology Transfer Section is where qualified innovation brokers assist researchers in discovering the business potential of patents and scientific research. The mission of this section is to transform knowledge and innovation into products and services that can change the world around us.
- The Patent Attorneys Section is a team of experts who help creators—University employees—through the process of obtaining exclusive rights for industrial property. The section’s goal is to protect innovations developed at the University so they can benefit both the creators and society at large.
- The Academic Entrepreneurship Section is responsible for turning innovative ideas into practice. It strengthens cooperation between students, researchers, entrepreneurs, and investors. The section’s mission is to support the development of modern technologies by creating and developing startups and spin-offs.
The activities of CIP are supported by TULVENTURE Ltd., a special-purpose entity of Lodz University of Technology.
TULVENTURE is 100% owned by Lodz University of Technology. It was established to commercialize ideas developed at the University. It supports students and researchers in the early stages of setting up their own businesses, assisting with the formalities of starting a company, providing legal and financial advice, and offering access to the infrastructure and resources of Lodz University of Technology. As a result, the process of creating a startup or spin-off becomes more efficient and less complicated.
We invite researchers and scholars to take advantage of our services in the areas of technology transfer, obtaining exclusive rights, and developing your own business.
