From July 1 to 3, 2025, Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship of Lodz University of Technology organized a consortium meeting for the Tech2Link project – Bridging the Gap: Technology Transfer Hubs Connecting Western Balkans Universities, Business and Society, funded under Erasmus-LS. This event was an excellent opportunity to exchange experiences and deepen cooperation in the field of technology transfer and collaboration between the academic community and business.
The meeting in Lodz gathered representatives from partner universities in the Western Balkans region (Western Balkans University – project leader, Luarasi University, South East European University, International Business College Mitrovica, and the University of Pristina), who, together with the Lodz University of Technology team, exchanged best practices and experiences. The Tech2Link project aims to build the capacity of higher education institutions in technology transfer, commercialization of research results, and the development of effective models of cooperation with industry.
During the three-day event, Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship presented the models of industry collaboration employed at Lodz University of Technology. The presentations covered best practices for cooperation between research institutions and businesses, as well as how to support start-ups and protect intellectual property. Participants also had the opportunity to learn about the tools and mechanisms of technology transfer that assist researchers in transforming innovative ideas into marketable products and services.
The event participants also toured our university campus and visited building A7, where Professor Grzegorz Granosik, PhD, DSc, presented the Design-4-All laboratory – a modern research facility at Lodz University of Technology.
The consortium meeting was not only an exchange of knowledge but also an opportunity to build lasting relationships and joint strategies that will contribute to the development of collaboration between science and industry, as well as enhance the competitiveness of the partner universities. The Tech2Link project is an important step towards creating a modern and efficient innovation ecosystem that will have a tangible impact on regional and social development.
